George E. Kent, Professor of Music of the University of Rhode Island, Bachelor of Science of the University of Rhode Island; Master of Music of the New England Conservatory of Music; organ student of Donald Willing and George Faxon; trumpet student of Roger Voisin; organist and choirmaster of Christ Church, Westerly, Rhode Island; founder and music director of the Chorus of Westerly, critically acclaimed for its local performances and on tour and one of the first choirs to be invited to sing Evensong in Westminster Abbey; former associate conductor and acting music director of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra; proprietor of the Ogontz music training center in Lisbon, New Hampshire, and music director of the choral symposium held there annually; former member of the music commission of the Diocese of Rhode Island; a performer whose recordings have been singled out for praise by critics; whose devotion to the joy of music, both sacred and secular, this seminary is pleased to recognize.
Our seasoned choir of approximately 35 singers of all ages sing in the style and genre of the Anglican tradition. In addition to singing at our Sunday 10am Service, they also offer Advent and Christmas Lessons & Carols as well as several Evensongs throughout the year.
